 nbsp\;Behavioral Intervention and Threat assessment teams are a critical c
 omponent of a comprehensive school safety plan. This session is designed t
 o provide participants with the skills and knowledge to develop school and
  district-based behavioral intervention and threat assessment teams for th
 e K-12 setting. Using the National Association for Behavioral Intervention
  and Threat Assessment (NABITA) Standards\, participants will learn about 
 and discuss the essential components and skills needed for K-12 team imple
 mentation. Facilitators will discuss the nuances of developing a well-roun
 ded team in the K-12 school setting in partnership with local first respon
 ders and other agencies. Participants will leave the conversation able to 
 identify specific action steps to create a behavioral intervention and thr
 eat assessment team as well as an understanding of the challenges and bene
 fits of team implementation and sustainability.</p>
