Racia l and ethnic disproportionality in school discipline is a pressing challen ge across the country. Given the well-documented negative effects of exclu sionary discipline on a range of student outcomes\, educators must address this issue. But the question remains: how can we best intervene? < /span>The existing res earch is clear that that no single strategy will be sufficient to produce substantive and sustainable change.

This series of workshops for school teams will focus on a multiple component approach for reducing discipline disproport ionality through school-wide and classroom strategies. School teams will b e guided through the following steps:

Using their own disci pline data to identify discipline decisions with equity and inequity

Obtaining input and feedback from students and families
\n
\n
Creating or revising school discipline systems to make them more cult urally responsive

Improving student-teacher relationships
