Phil Hartley will be presenting an always informative l egal issues update. \; The Professional Standards Commission will provide important certification updates. \; Dr. Buster Evans\, Executive Director of Teacher Reti rement Systems (TRS)\, will keep us current on trends and changes in TRS. \; Dr. Caitlin Dooley\, the Deputy S uperintendent for Teaching and Learning for the Georgia Department of Educ ation\, will share relevant details regarding the Every Student Succeeds A ct (ESSA). \; \;

Two Pre-Confer ence Sessions are planned and will include a session on CPI led by experts Elaine Wilson\, Professional Qualifications Specialist\, Forsyth County S chools and Deb Garner\, Assistant HR Director\, Gwinnett County Schools.&n bsp\; GASPA President-Elect\, Ronnie Wade will share insights in his sessi on entitled\, A Lesson in Leadership. \; This session will in clude discussion and activities around actualizing leadership in your curr ent role. \; The session will conclude with a discussion on how to bec ome involved in leadership roles within GASPA. \; \; \;
