The 18th An
nual highly acclaimed SSTAGE Promising Practices Conference will feature a
n opening GaDOE update from Justin D. Hill\, Ed.S.\, Associate Superintend
ent Whole Child Supports &\; Strategic Partnerships. Dr. Amanda VanDerH
eyden will share how MTSS is the model to promote growth for all learners
producing a dataset that can be used to inform whole class instruction. Dr
. VanDerHeyden applies the Science of Instruction and Learning to Math rec
ognizing that the underlying science for the Science of Reading translates
to the Science of Math. Dr. Jan Bryan will strategies to get more growth
from all students\, in all subjects\, and at all levels by supercharging T
ier 1 instruction. Dr. Carol Johnson will discuss ways to foster academic
achievement of English Language Learners.
Olympic Gold Medalist Gail D
evers will share\, during a lunch keynote\, her personal story and how she
currently advocates for a collaborative effort among educators and commun
ity members to empower all students to reach their fullest potential.
Concurrent conference sessions will focus on the most promising practices
for Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)\, Response to Intervention (RtI
)\, Student Support Teams (SST)\, and Whole Child Supports featuring eleme
ntary\, middle\, and high schools along with districts from around the sta
te implementing highly effective practices with successful outcomes\, and
a wide array of special interest topics that are informative and practical
from expert educators including several from GaDOE/
GaMTSS.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: \;To cancel participation for an event\ , SSTAGE must receive written notice (email jwhitehead@gael.org) seven cal endar days prior to the scheduled workshop/conference. An administrative f ee of $25.00 will be charged for cancellations. Requests for a refund must be received in writing at least seven calendar days prior to the start of the conference and must be addressed to jwhitehead@gael.org. SSTAGE encou rages participants to find a substitute. Replacements will be welcome\, an d there will be no charge to transfer a registration to a colleague for th e event. Advance notice of replacements is preferred. If an individual reg isters and does not attend the event\, he/she will be marked as a "no show " and the full conference fees shall apply. Registrants are responsible fo r payment. Refunds will not be made for &ldquo\;no shows&rdquo\;. Refunds and reimbursements will not be transferable to other workshops or conferen ces. In the event of inclement weather which may impede or prevent confere nce attendance\, or which may give cause to fully cancel the conference\, a credit will be provided to the \;registra nt or school/system. Refunds will not be made \;for \;conference c ancelations do to COVID-19\, severe weather or weather \;events \; which may cause the conference to \;cancel.
