Across Geo rgia\, elementary leaders and teachers are working hard to implement effec tive ELA instruction in accordance with the Georgia Early Literacy Act and SB 48 regarding dyslexia. \; During this think tank session\, sponsor ed by the \;Georgia Dyslexia Collaborative \;and the \;Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy\, pa rticipants will brainstorm how to establish criteria (including profession al judgement) for determining students have "characteristics of dyslexia." \; The goal for the day \;WILL NOT \;be to establish common c riteria or guidelines across the state\, but to create an opportunity to b rainstorm pros and cons of different approaches for districts to consider. \; \;
\nThe audience for this timely workshop will consist of any administrators and leaders who are leading the elementary structured literacy and assessment work such as Curriculum and Instruction Administra tors\, MTSS Leaders\, Special Education Administrators\, Principals\, Assi stant Principals\, School Psychologists\, and Speech/Language Pathologists .
