\nSeptember 20-21\, 2021
\nVFS is hosting its
virtual 5th Workshop on eVTOL Infrastructure for Urban Air Mobility (UAM)
. This two-day meeting is the fifth in a series of solution-focused worksh
ops. \;
\n
\nThis 5th Workshop is dedicated to addressing th
e safety aspects and policy challenges in eVTOL Infrastructure and plottin
g out a plan of action in collaboration with the US Federal Aviation Admin
istration (FAA)\, State\, Regional and Local government to advance eVTOL I
nfrastructure development. The workshop schedule will include \; prese
ntations from key players from the industry.
\n
\nIn the 1st wor
kshop in Sept. 2019\, industry representatives and regulators focused on t
he "defining challenges" of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL)
aircraft\, identifying key stakeholders and strategies for moving forward.
 \;
\n
\nThe 2nd Workshop on eVTOL Infrastructure\, held vir
tually (due to COVID-19) in a series on sponsored webinars in April and Ma
y 2020\, covered foundational elements needed to support the development o
f safe\, functional and economically viable infrastructure to support UAM
applications. \;
\n
\nThe 3rd Workshop on eVTOL Infrastructu
re\, held virtually (due to COVID-19) in a series was held in September 20
20\, covered foundational elements needed to support the development of sa
fe\, functional and economically viable infrastructure to support UAM appl
ications. A virtual tour of the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City was
also part of the program. \; The output of the workshop was captured v
ia audience inputs and used to set the content for the 4th workshop.
\n
\nThe 4th Workshop on eVTOL Infrastructure was held virtually in M
arch 2021\, addressed policy changes needed to support the development of
safe\, functional and economically viable infrastructure to support UAM ap
plications. \;\n\n
