\nThis webinar will focus on the matter of 'spread' in subrogat ion matters\, as opposed to the traditional origin and cause. This is prim arily for fire losses\, although can also entail water losses or other asp ects of property damage. Often\, the origin and/or cause of a loss cannot be determined\, although that may not mean that subrogation is a lost caus e when the spread of the loss can be a critical factor. Related to fires\, this can be the fuel loading\, suppression system\, detection or alarm sy stem\, egress components\, occupant or fire department response\, or sever al other factors.

\nShannon Warren is an attorney with White and Williams LLP and is based out of the firm&rsquo\;s regional office in Boston\, MA. Shannon has been working in the legal industry for over 16 ye ars and focuses her practice exclusively on property subrogation. Shannon consistently handles cases involving catastrophic property damages\, such as fires\, water losses\, and construction defects. Shannon represents ins urers throughout the United States but concentrates her practice in the Ne w England region. Shannon has presented to multiple audiences on subrogati on-related topics\, is an editor of the Subrogator\, and regularly contrib utes to the Subrogation Strategist blog.

\nJay Kramarczyk is a licensed professional engineer in multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States. Jay&rsquo\;s work often entails the analysis of fire protec tion systems\, including detection\, alarm\, and suppression systems as we ll as construction and egress. Jay is proficient in researching\, analyzin g\, and interpreting codes and standards for fire protection\, mechanical\ , and building systems. He regularly is involved with the analysis of fail ed fire protection systems including failed sprinkler systems and commerci al kitchen suppression systems. He also analyzes fire and smoke detection and alarm systems\, as well as appropriate building egress and constructio n. In addition to fire protection investigations\, Jay is proficient in th e analysis of mechanical systems and mechanical failures including water l osses\, ventilation systems\, and gas-related events including fires\, exp losions\, and carbon monoxide incidents. Jay also has the expertise as a C ertified Fireplace and Chimney Inspector to inspect wood-burning appliance s and chimneys preventatively and following a loss to evaluate design\, in stallation\, maintenance\, use\, and potential modes of failure.
