  program is designed to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledge as mea
 sured against core job performance requirements of established professiona
 l qualifications\, standards and standard industry practices related to ev
 idence collection on fire scenes. This measurement is not all inclusive of
  the incorporated professional standards sited\, but lays the foundation f
 or measuring the holder's fundamental ability to perform specific evidence
  collection tasks related to fire scene investigation at an acceptable lev
 el as measured against published acceptable practices.<br />\n<br />\nThe 
 applicant must provide documentation of meeting minimum requirements inclu
 ding experience\, training\, and education. Upon approval they must succes
 sfully pass a comprehensive practicum examination.<br />\n<br />\nRequirem
 ents/Experience:<br />\nA minimum of 18 months of general experience in a 
 fire investigation related industry.<br />\nA minimum of 12 items of foren
 sic evidence collected. The applicant is responsible for submitting genera
 l supporting documents that include the location of the examination\, the 
 date of the examination\, and the particular type(s) of evidence collected
 .<br />\n<br />\nTraining / Education:<br />\nMinimum of 29 hours of teste

 3 hours)<br />\nDocumenting the Event (4 hours)<br />\nEthics and the Fire
  Investigator (3 hours)<br />\nThe Scientific Method for Fire and Explosio
 n Investigation (3 hours)<br />\nEvidence Examination: What Happens at the
  Lab (4 hours)<br />\nIntroduction to Evidence (4 hours)<br />\nNFPA 1033 
 and Your Career (2 hours)<br />\nPhysical Evidence at the Fire Scene (4 ho
 urs)<br />\nThe Practical Application of the Relationship Between NFPA 103
 3 and NFPA 921 (2 hours)<br />\nPre-Requisites are required as supporting 
 knowledge for the class and the examination. Materials within the class an
 d examination will reference all Pre-Requisites.<br />\n<br />\nComprehens
 ive Practical Examination:<br />\nApplicants must pass all critical elemen
 ts and achieve a minimum score of 70% on each of the 10 components of the 
 practical testing to be determined to have successfully challenged the exa
 m.<br />\nExamination Period: Four Hours<br />\nRenewal every three years.
