l develop an understanding of the basic components and function of vehicle
and heavy equipment electrical systems\, how those systems differ from th
e building article systems\, and how these electrical systems cause fires.
Attendees will develop knowledge of certain practical subrogation conside
rations\, such as the use of specialized experts\, government recalls\, an
d the application of the economic loss rule.
\nThere will be a visua
l presentation which will include still photographs\, diagrams and video i
llustrating the design\, componentry\, and problem points of vehicle and h
eavy equipment electrical systems.

\nThis webinar has been a
pproved for one hour of CE adjuster CE adjuster credit for Delaware\, Flor
ida\, North credit for Delaware\, Florida\, North Carolina\, and Texas. In

\nKevin Smith&rsquo\;s
practice is concentrated in the area of property casualty and insurance li
tigation since 1985. He has extensive trial and appellate experience in st
ate and federal courts throughout the United States. Mr. Smith&rsquo\;s ex
perience includes subrogation actions arising from building fires\, floodi
ng and water damage\, warehouse losses\, and construction accidents. He ha
s also successfully litigated many ocean marine and inland marine cargo da
mage subrogation claims. Mr. Smith has extensive experience in managing th
e investigation of very large losses involving multiple parties and expert
s. He has developed specialized knowledge in the area of product liability
cases involving plastic plumbing components\, metal halide lights\, highl
y combustible plastic materials and solar electric arrays\, in addition to
boiler and machinery losses.
\n
\nKR Davis is a Senior Electri
cal Engineer with a background for determining root cause analysis with ei
ght years of direct forensic engineering experience\; including certified
in fire and explosion investigation of structures and vehicles\, able to d
raw upon more than 20 years of product development engineering skills hone
d by real-life experiences throughout the entire product lifecycle (design
-launch-post production). Represent both plaintiff and defense in more tha
n 200+ cases\; provides depositions\; written (and illustrated) engineerin
g reports\; trained in evidence handling\; able to work in confrontational
situations\; trained in the art of interviewing\; skilled problem solver.
Managed both technical and non-technical work groups. Experienced in inte
rpreting and applying regulatory requirements vs. design guidelines/best p
ractices.
