 ong></div>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p>The Evidence Collection Technicia
 n program is designed to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledge as me
 asured against core job performance requirements of established profession
 al qualifications\, standards and standard industry practices related to e
 vidence collection on fire scenes. This measurement is not all inclusive o
 f the incorporated professional standards sited\, but lays the foundation 
 for measuring the holder's fundamental ability to perform specific evidenc
 e collection tasks related to fire scene investigation at an acceptable le
 vel as measured against published acceptable practices.<br />\nThe applica
 nt must provide documentation of meeting minimum requirements including ex
 perience\, training\, and education. Upon approval they must successfully 
 pass a comprehensive practicum examination.</p>\n<p>\n<strong>\nRequiremen
 ts/Experience:</strong>\nA minimum of 18 months of general experience in a
  fire investigation related industry.\nA minimum of 12 items of forensic e
 vidence collected. The applicant is responsible for submitting general sup
 porting documents that include the location of the examination\, the date 
 of the examination\, and the particular type(s) of evidence collected.</p>
 \n<p>\n<strong>\nTraining / Education:</strong>\nMinimum of 29 hours of te
 sted training.\nCFITrainer.Net&reg\; Module Prerequisites:\n<em>DNA (3 hou
 rs)\nDocumenting the Event (4 hours)\nEthics and the Fire Investigator (3 
 hours)\nThe Scientific Method for Fire and Explosion Investigation (3 hour
 s)\nEvidence Examination: What Happens at the Lab (4 hours)\nIntroduction 
 to Evidence (4 hours)\nNFPA 1033 and Your Career (2 hours)\nPhysical Evide
 nce at the&nbsp\;Fire Scene (4 hours)\nThe Practical Application of the Re
 lationship Between NFPA 1033 and NFPA 921 (2 hours)</em>\nPre-Requisites a
 re required as supporting knowledge for the class and the examination.&nbs
 p\; Materials within the class and examination will reference all Pre-Requ
 isites.</p>\n<p><strong>\nComprehensive Practical Examination:</strong>\nA
 pplicants must pass all critical elements and achieve a minimum score of 7
 0% on each of the 10 components of the practical testing to be determined 
 to have successfully challenged the exam.\nExamination Period: Four Hours\
