\nIt is well known that writing the investigative
report is probably the most dreaded job facing the
\nfire investigat
or. However\, it is also well known that your investigative report is prob
ably the
\nmost important job of the whole investigation! This course
is designed to assist the investigator
\nwith the basics of writing
the expert report by following the recommendations in the most current
\nedition of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033\, as well as the information found i
n the current editions of
\nthe ASTM standards.
\n
\nThe in
formation found in this course will provide the investigator with ideas on
&ldquo\;how to paint the
\npicture&rdquo\; to the reader of the repo
rt by following the recommended format for putting your report
\ntoge
ther and the recommended contents that should be included in your expert i
nvestigative
\nreport.

will be provided for class discussion at the end of the class.

\nThe recent dramatic increase in the number of
illegal marijuana cultivation and butane hash oil
\nextraction operat
ions are resulting in numerous fires and serious burn injuries across the
United
\nStates. Conditions commonly found at these fire scenes can e
xpose investigators and First
\nResponders to serious health hazards
including risk of vapor ignition/explosions and
\nelectrocution.
\n
\nThis course of instruction will introduce the most common ways
in which these fires are caused
\nand how to identify signs and evide
nce of such operations. The information presented will aid
\ninvestig
ators in qualifying as Origin and Cause Expert Witnesses related to these
types of fires.

azards that First Responders and Investigators
