 he near 30 year history of NFPA 921 and its impact on the investigation of
  fires. A specific look at the recent changes in the 2021 revision and how
  origin and cause determination must be handled. The parallel document\, N
 FPA 1033\, and its qualification criteria for origin and cause investigato
 rs will also be discussed.</span></div>\n<div style="text-align: left\;"><
 br />\n</div>\n<div style="text-align: left\;"><span style="text-align: le
 ft\;">Presenters &ndash\; Todd Soong</span></div>\n<p style="text-align: l
 eft\;"><span style="text-align: left\;">Todd Soong has served as a fire an
 alyst for NEFCO Fire Investigations since 2014. Prior to that he worked as
  a fire investigator for G4S Compliance and Investigations. He has investi
 gated over 1000 fire events in the private and public sector. Prior to bec
 oming a full-time fire analyst\, he served for 21 years at the Rock Commun
 ity Fire Protection District. He retired as a captain serving most recentl
 y on a ladder truck company. He also served as a captain on a heavy rescue
  truck and an engine company for this fire district in the greater St. Lou
 is\, MO area.</span></p>\n<p style="text-align: left\;">Todd has been invo
 lved in adult education/training since the early 1990&rsquo\;s. He has ins
 tructed in the EMS field to EMTs\, paramedics\, nurses\, doctors and other
  healthcare providers by providing training in Advanced Cardiac Life Suppo
 rt (ACLS)\, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)\, Basic Trauma Life Sup
 port (BTLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). He has also inst
 ructed Emergency Medical Technology courses at the EMT and paramedic level
 s. As a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IA
 AI)\, Todd is also a Certified Instructor (CI) as well as a Certified Fire
  Investigator (CFI). He has taught courses across the country for the IAAI
  including the 40-hour course on Fundamentals\, Fire Dynamics\, Electrical
  Fires. Todd is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) th
 rough the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).</p>\n<div sty
 le="text-align: left\;"><span style="text-align: left\;">Throughout his ca
 reer in public service or private fire investigation\, Todd has sought to 
 improve his profession by providing the highest level of mentorship\, coac
 hing and instruction. He has provided countless hours of instruction over 
 a career spanning more than 30 years. He has experimented and recreated fi
 re events hundreds of times and is always prepared and available to speak 
 about his profession and experience.</span></div>\n<div style="text-align:
