 trong><br />\n<br />\n<br />\nThe Evidence Collection Technician program i
 s designed to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledge as measured agai
 nst core job performance requirements of established professional qualific
 ations\, standards and standard industry practices related to evidence col
 lection on fire scenes. This measurement is not all inclusive of the incor
 porated professional standards sited\, but lays the foundation for measuri
 ng the holder's fundamental ability to perform specific evidence collectio
 n tasks related to fire scene investigation at an acceptable level as meas
 ured against published acceptable practices.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nThe ap
 plicant must provide documentation of meeting minimum requirements includi
 ng experience\, training\, and education. Upon approval they must successf
 ully pass a comprehensive practicum examination.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nRe
 quirements/Experience:<br />\nA minimum of 18 months of general experience
  in a fire investigation related industry.<br />\nA minimum of 12 items of
  forensic evidence collected. The applicant is responsible for submitting 
 general supporting documents that include the location of the examination\
 , the date of the examination\, and the particular type(s) of evidence col
 lected.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nTraining / Education:<br />\nMinimum of 29

 />\nNFPA 1033 and Your Career (2 hours)<br />\nPhysical Evidence at the Fi
 re Scene (4 hours)<br />\nThe Practical Application of the Relationship Be
 tween NFPA 1033 and NFPA 921 (2 hours)<br />\nPre-Requisites are required 
 as supporting knowledge for the class and the examination. Materials withi
 n the class and examination will reference all Pre-Requisites.<br />\n<br 
 />\n<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nComprehensive Practical Examination:<br />\nAp
 plicants must pass all critical elements and achieve a minimum score of 70
 % on each of the 10 components of the practical testing to be determined t
 o have successfully challenged the exam.<br />\nExamination Period: Four H
