\nThe Evidence Collection Technici an (ECT) program is designed to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledg e and practical skills in evidence collection at fire scenes. The evaluati on is based on established professional qualification standards and indust ry best practices. This program provides the foundation for assessing an i ndividual's competency in performing specific evidence collection tasks in accordance with accepted practices.

\nApplicants must meet e ligibility requirements in experience\, education\, and training\, and suc cessfully complete a comprehensive practical examination.

\nCertification &\; Renewal
\nSuccessful candidates will be awarded ECT certification.
\nRenewal is required every five y ears.

\nApplic ants for this professional designation shall submit reference letters from their employers confirming an understanding of core job performance requi rements (JPRs) outlined in established professional qualifications standar ds and standard industry practices related to evidence collection demonstr ated at fire scenes in the preceding 18 months.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations received 31 days or more pri or to the course start date are eligible for a full refund of the registra tion fee.

Cancellations received within 3 0 days of the course start date are non-refundable.

Registrants who are unable to attend may\, at the discretion of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI)\, substitute another eligible individual from the same organization\, provided written notice is received prior to the course start date.

Failure to attend a course without prior written cancellation (n o-shows) will not be eligible for a refund.

All IAAI courses are subject to cancellation or postp onement at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Registered participan ts will be notified as soon as possible.
