The Evidence Collection Technician program is designed to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledge as measured against core jo b performance requirements of established professional qualifications\, st andards and standard industry practices related to evidence collection on fire scenes. This measurement is not all inclusive of the incorporated pro fessional standards sited\, but lays the foundation for measuring the hold er's fundamental ability to perform specific evidence collection tasks rel ated to fire scene investigation at an acceptable level as measured agains t published acceptable practices.

The app licant must provide documentation of meeting minimum requirements includin g experience\, training\, and education. Upon approval they must successfu lly pass a comprehensive practicum examination.

Requirements/Experience:
\n
A minimum of 18 months of general experience in a fi re investigation related industry.
\n
A minimum of 12 items of fo rensic evidence collected. The applicant is responsible for submitting gen eral supporting documents that include the location of the examination\, t he date of the examination\, and the particular type(s) of evidence collec ted.
