 strong></strong></p>\n<p>The Evidence Collection Technician program is des
 igned to verify an applicant's fundamental knowledge as measured against c
 ore job performance requirements of established professional qualification
 s\, standards and standard industry practices related to evidence collecti
 on on fire scenes. This measurement is not all inclusive of the incorporat
 ed professional standards sited\, but lays the foundation for measuring th
 e holder's fundamental ability to perform specific evidence collection tas
 ks related to fire scene investigation at an acceptable level as measured 
 against published acceptable practices.<br />\nThe applicant must provide 
 documentation of meeting minimum requirements including experience\, train
 ing\, and education. Upon approval they must successfully pass a comprehen
 sive practicum examination.</p>\n<p>\n<strong>\nRequirements/Experience:</
 strong>\nA minimum of 18 months of general experience in a fire investigat
 ion related industry.\nA minimum of 12 items of forensic evidence collecte
 d. The applicant is responsible for submitting general supporting document
 s that include the location of the examination\, the date of the examinati
 on\, and the particular type(s) of evidence collected.</p>\n<p>\n<strong>\
 nTraining / Education:</strong>\nMinimum of 29 hours of tested training.\n

  the Event (4 hours)\nEthics and the Fire Investigator (3 hours)\nThe Scie
 ntific Method for Fire and Explosion Investigation (3 hours)\nEvidence Exa
 mination: What Happens at the Lab (4 hours)\nIntroduction to Evidence (4 h
 ours)\nNFPA 1033 and Your Career (2 hours)\nPhysical Evidence at the&nbsp\
 ;Fire Scene (4 hours)\nThe Practical Application of the Relationship Betwe
 en NFPA 1033 and NFPA 921 (2 hours)</em>\nPre-Requisites are required as s
 upporting knowledge for the class and the examination.&nbsp\; Materials wi
 thin the class and examination will reference all Pre-Requisites.</p>\n<p>
 \n<strong>\nComprehensive Practical Examination:</strong>\nApplicants must
  pass all critical elements and achieve a minimum score of 70% on each of 
 the 10 components of the practical testing to be determined to have succes
 sfully challenged the exam.\nExamination Period: Four Hours\nRenewal every
