eDesign Collaborative ThinkTank Roadshow: University of Wisconsin Extended
  Campus</p>\n<p>April 14\, 2023 | 1:00 &ndash\; 3:00 PM ET</p>\n<p>The Inn
ovative Project Selection Tool: How to Facilitate Intentional Collaboratio
n in Capstone Courses</p>\n<p>This presentation emphasizes mindful collabo
ration between faculty and students in selecting appropriate and engaging
Capstone projects.&nbsp\; The new interactive Capstone project selection t
ool is designed to assist students and faculty in discussing\, analyzing\,
and selecting appropriate Capstone projects by evaluating their project i
deas across program criteria. This tool makes course expectations transpar
ent and provides a supportive EDI environment for students from diverse ba
ckgrounds. We emphasize the use of scaffolding to help students gain skill
s and confidence early on in the capstone project proposal process. We als
o use weekly engagement with frequent formative feedback activities. The s
election tool is transparent and shares criteria and clear expectations. S
tudents know the purpose\, task\, and criteria for success. All students h
ave well-defined criteria to monitor their progress and identify bottlenec
ks. Join us to share and discuss what has worked for your capstone courses
as well. We will start with a quick poll at the beginning of the session.
Later we will break into groups and ask participants questions related to
their experience with helping students select projects in capstone course
 s. We will also show the process our team took to develop this reusable le
arning object.</p>\n<p><em>Why University of Wisconsin Extended Campus?</e
m></p>\n<p>We are a collaborative team of individuals (Faculty\, Instructi
onal Designer\, Media Specialist) who used design thinking to help develop
and design a solution to a problem that was impacting student success. Co
llaboration is important to this group\, and we are interested in sharing\
, collaborating\, and learning about future possibilities and innovations
at other institutions that may benefit all of our students.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p
